how our world was defined in 2014
15 Images that helped define 2014
Each year our world is shaped by the events around us. Often these events are outside of our control and yet they seek to shape and define us. From war and conflict to the passing of people who inspired entire generations. From the rise of people from obscurity to become influencers of our time to the people that will play game changing roles in the year ahead.
This year we have chosen 15 events and people that we beleive have shaped the world in which we live today. Some are confronting and others are filled with hope. What we aim to do is have you pause and think - how did this event impact me? what did it mean for me? and then - what can I do tomorrow to make the world a better place.
We don't get it right all the time and we are sure there are much more powerful images and events out there that you think are worthy of inclusion. So, we encourage you to post them on our Facebook or Google + pages. We'll be creating a montage of images for publication on Christmas eve - so make sure you add something.
On behalf of the team at EntreHub i'd lke to wish you all a very merry Christmas and all of the best for 2015. I'd also like to leave you with two quotes that sum up the year for me - a year where war was ever present and yet hope continued to spring eternal. Tolstoy once said that "You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you" - therefore, lets end conflicts not start new ones in 2015. And, Maya Angelou "If you get, give. If you learn, teach.
